The RaceOnly 7-Speed Rotary DCT Kit enables the fitment of a BMW F82 M4 (or compatible E/F-Series) dual-clutch transmission into the Mazda FD3S RX-7, creating one of the most sophisticated drivetrain solutions available for the rotary platform. Originally developed for 13B engines in Cosmo RE or FD3S REW (automatic) configuration, the kit also supports compatibility with manual FD3S engines with minor modifications to the rear iron — instructions for the required cutting are included with every kit.

Important: The F82 M4 or compatible BMW DCT transmission is not included. Builders must source their own compatible F-Series or E-Series BMW DCT transmission. The kit provides all adapter, flywheel, drivetrain, and shifter components required to mate the transmission to the FD3S rotary platform.

J-Spec Garage is the only authorized US distributor of RaceOnly parts. This kit ships from domestic inventory — no overseas sourcing, no gray-market risk.

Kit Contents

  • RaceOnly DCT Adapter — the core coupling component between the 13B rotary and the F82 DCT bellhousing
  • RaceOnly DCT Sprung Flywheel/Hub Adapter Kit — torsionally dampened coupling for smooth engagement and vibration management
  • FD Automatic Starter Motor CANTCU with Terminated Wiring Harness — the CAN controller unit for DCT communication, pre-terminated for clean installation
  • M4 Shifter
  • FD M4 Shifter Housing — direct bolt-on to FD3S interior
  • FD F82 Transmount — bolt-on fitment; requires modification to accept or delete the FD3S power frame

Optional Add-Ons

  • RaceOnly Speed Sensor Kit — bolt-on replacement for the ABS wheel speed sensor; recommended for builds where ABS has been removed
  • 1350 Driveshaft — direct bolt-on driveshaft for the conversion
  • RaceOnly Wireless Paddle System — 6 buttons, 2 dials, and 2 paddles for full sequential DCT control

ECU Requirements

The CANTCU requires a driveshaft or rear wheel speed input. Officially supported standalone ECUs: Haltech, MoTeC, and MaxxECU. Other ECUs may function but are not supported by RaceOnly for technical assistance. Builds running ABS can use the OEM ABS sensor signal shared to the ECU — this is possible but not officially supported by RaceOnly. The RaceOnly Speed Sensor Kit (bolt-on at the OEM ABS sensor location) is the recommended solution for ABS-deleted builds.
