The RaceOnly FD RX-7 Air Pump Delete Kit Gen 2 solves one of the most common engine bay challenges on a modified FD3S: the factory air injection pump consumes significant real estate on the driver's side of the engine bay — space that becomes critical when fitting a large single turbo. The RaceOnly kit eliminates the air pump and replaces the belt routing with a precision-engineered billet pulley system that retains all other accessories cleanly.

Why Gen 2 Fixes the Belt Slippage Problem

Belt slippage is the primary failure mode of air pump delete kits. RaceOnly designed the Gen 2 specifically to eliminate it. The Gen 2 features a textured finish on both the belt and the pulley contact surface — twice the grip area of the original Gen 1 design. The pulley is also larger in diameter than OEM, providing additional belt deflection that maintains drive tension without over-tightening. The result is OEM-level reliability without a secondary idler pulley.

The kit is fully compatible with the OEM alternator pulley and with the RaceOnly 180-amp high-output alternator for FD3S builds running high electrical loads. No bearing assemblies anywhere in the system — eliminating the bearing failure mode that plagues idler-pulley-based delete solutions.
